DAVE PHILLIPS (re)searches and ponders existences and behaviourisms humanimalistically via audio de/construction, psycho-acoustics and sonic rituals. He utilises sound as a method of communication in a direct and primal form and develops it as a metaphysical tool in which it mutates into an unrestrained language with a conscience. His work engages, invites existentialist rumination, demands awareness, endorses sentient and environmental (e)quality and encourages intervention and responsibility.
Dave Phillips is based in Zürich, has been sonically active for 30 years and appears on over 150 releases. He's the co-founder of hardcore-extremists FEAR OF GOD and also part of the influential SCHIMPFLUCH-GRUPPE (with Rudolf Eb.er/Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock, Marc Zeier/G*Park, Joke Lanz/Sudden Infant etc.). He founded OHNE in 2000 (with Tom Smith, Daniel Löwenbrück, Reto Mäder) and since 2004 runs the one-man-doom-project DEAD PENI. He collaborated with Antoine Chessex, G.X. Jupitter-Larsen, John Wiese, Mark Durgan, Damion Romero, Jazzfinger, Hiko/Gauze, Maso Yamazaki, Phil Vane, Alexei Borisov and many many more.
The FIELD RECORDINGS set uses raw and untreated recordings made in national parks and protected natural habitats in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Ecuador - mostly of insects, amphibians, water and the weather. Individual tracks are layered and mixed into a composition that evokes a force of nature. The accompanying text is distributed to the audience at the end of the set and relates the importance of the insect world to human existence: Nature doesn't need us.

SAMUEL RODGERS is a musician and artist working across improvisation, sound recording, performance and installation. He works with electronics: exploring feedback, amplifying objects and spaces, filtering sounds through materials; as well as playing piano. His approach is often characterised by restraint, tending toward silence and sounds on the threshold of perception; sounds in relation to space and the surrounding environment.
Samuel has performed across the UK and in Europe, and has recordings released on Another Timbre, Cathnor, Organized Music from Thessaloniki and Copy for Your Records, with a forthcoming recording on Notice Recordings. He is a member of the Set Ensemble and co-curates the Consumer Waste record label. He holds a Masters Degree with Distinction in Time-based Art Practices from Dartington College of Arts where he also studied BA Music Composition with Frank Denyer.
