RAMMEL CLUB# 84 - BROOD MA, BEN GWILLIAM, CXLO, Friday 25th August @ Chameleon, Nottingham.
Rammel Club #084
--------------------------
Brood Ma
One of the key architects of the Quantum Natives media collective. Coming to The Chameleon off the back of events at Issue Project Room in New York, and the ICA in London. His latest record 'Daze' on Tri Angle Records was described as "a collection of perverted smash hits in overdrive, a keyed up, obsessively concerned, hyperbolic exaggeration" Tinymixtapes. "Rarely does any singular genre tag capture the uncanniness, or uncategorizable Brood Ma-ness, of the producer's industrial synths, grime-oriented beats, and ominous sub-bass" Pitchfork.

Ben Gwilliam
'is an artist whose work spans sound, film, installation & performance. His work explores how the mechanics of sound media reflect & distort human perception, often manipulating the space(s) & moment of experience. His fascination drives a curiosity that forms as durational performances and installations, film & video works and writing.'
Gwilliam's performance at a Hideous Porter event a couple of years ago was spellbinding, leaving spectators at a loss to the means and the wonder of a freezer box and few portable tape recorders. For this performance all we know is it will incorporate light.

CXLO
Hails from Cornwall and now resides in London, her idiosyncratic style of electronic music with it's basis in glossy synthesis and stuttering rhythms would perhaps not sound out of place on the likes of Hemlock Recordings or Opal Tapes. Earlier in August she will be performing at the EAVI event at the ICA.
